Our part-time, half-day or extended day program for 3 and 4 year olds includes core Montessori presentations, peace curriculum, music units, cultural themes, French and Sign Language lessons. Although designed as an introduction to socialization and to the Montessori curriculum, a full range of academic materials are available to challenge those children who are developmentally ready.
Schedule
We offer part time options 2, 3 and 4 mornings (8:30 – 12:15) or extended days
(8:30 – 3:30) per week. The 3-day choice is Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday or
Monday/Wednesday/Friday and the 2-day choice is Tuesday/Thursday. The
4-day option is Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday.
Ages
A 3 or 4 year old may be appropriately placed in either the 2 or 3-day
schedule.
Class Size
Maximum 24 children in the morning. In the afternoon group size
ranges from 14 - 16.
Ratio
Approximate 6-7:1 ratio with 3-4 teachers depending on exact enrollment.
Classroom, Circle Time & Curriculum
Children make work choices from the 12 Learning Centers (Language, Math, Science, Geography, Cultural, Art Studio, Art Theory, Practical Life, History, Sensorial, Peace Corner, Music) plus 2 or 3 new whole group lessons are presented each day. As well, children benefit from small group and individual lessons.
