The classic 5-day programming for 3 and 4 year old children supports the full Montessori curriculum and includes a strong literacy program, extensive cultural themes, science and seasonal explorations, as well as peace circles, music units, and French and American Sign Language lessons.
Schedule
We offer the traditional Montessori 5 morning (8:30 – 12:15) or 5 extended day (8:30 – 3:30)
schedule. 2 or 3-day extended days along with 5 mornings may be an option.
Ages
A 3 or 4 year old would be appropriately placed in this mixed-aged program. Occasionally a parent of a young 5 year old selects Pre-Primary.
Class Size
Maximum 24 children in the morning. In the afternoon group size ranges from 16 - 18.
Ratio
Approximate 8-9:1 ratio with 3 teachers depending on exact enrollment.
Classroom, Circle Time & Curriculum
The traditional 5 day programming permits a full Montessori Curriculum. New materials and whole group lessons are presented at circle time. As well, children benefit from small group and individual lessons. The consistent 5 day programming allows an in- depth study of curriculum areas such as science, cultural, geography and peace.
